Aeroplan Announces Partnership with Amazon.ca
Starting April 24, Aeroplan members will be able to earn miles on purchases from Amazon.ca. Aimia Inc., parent company of the loyalty program, announced in a release that customers will be able to earn at least 1 Aeroplan Mile for every $1 spent when they visit Amazon.ca through the Aeroplan website.
Aeroplan members with silver and black status will earn up to 2x miles, while diamond status members will receive up to 3x the miles per transaction. Members who pay for their Amazon.ca purchases with an Aeroplan-affiliated credit card will earn 2x the miles.
To earn miles, customers will have to access Amazon.ca through Aeroplan’s web portal. Here’s how it works:
- Aeroplan Members simply visit aeroplan.com/estore;
- Using the search function on the page, find Amazon.ca;
- Enter your Aeroplan Number and last name;
- Click on the ‘Shop Now’ button to be redirected to Amazon.ca.
Aeroplan was started by Air Canada in 1984, but was spun off and later sold to Aimia in 2008. Last May, Aeroplan and Air Canada announced their plans to part ways in 2020 as the airline launches its own loyalty program.
