About CIBC

CIBC offers a variety of GICs with varying term lengths. You can choose a short-term non-redeemable GIC from CIBC for terms of less than 364 days. CIBC’s long-term non-redeemable and redeemable GICs can be invested in for terms of between one and seven years. Interest rates are tiered, which means the longer the term, the higher the interest rate. CIBC also offers special types of GICs, such as the escalating rate GIC, which offers rates that increase each year over three years.
