I was contacted after a search for different mortgage rates by Naran from RateHub and brought in with a high sales pitch. I was very clear about my mortgage up for renewal and he brought me into it guaranteeing, in writing, that the mortgage was approved for a better rate than my institution. A week after giving all the documentation, I was told that I was approved at the rate he had quoted, details of finalization would happen after the weekend. A full week later, he tells me that the bank hadn't approved, (he had lied to get me to go with him) and the bank would only bring me in unless I gave them all my banking business. I had been clear from the beginning that the mortgage was all that I was bringing to Scotiabank. Naran wasted 2 weeks of my time and they now have all my financial & personal details.
