Mortgage rate that was finalized was not the one that was agreed upon 3 weeks prior. (There was an increase of 0.05%) I was told that because the mortgage did not close earlier, RateHub/BMO were going to issue a $1000 credit, but this was absorbed by the inflated mortgage transfer fees and the house appraisal. (They also made me increase my house insurance 3 times of what my mortgage was going to be) Work with a reputable financial institution or the incumbent mortgage provider. It will be cheaper and less headaches. Update 08/24 I received a call from Tawer, one of the lending specialists at RateHub and we discussed the issues I had. We walked through some of the points I made above and came to a mutual resolution. I'm still not impressed with what BMO put through, but do appreciate the work that Tawer did and the follow up. I would recommend RateHub, I would just vet the banking institutions before signing an agreement. - T
